CA Qualification Now Equivalent to Post Graduation
The candidates who qualify for Chartered Accountant will now be treated as equivalent to Postgraduates.
It’s definitely good news for all the CA candidates who are willing to become a US Certified Public Accountant (US CPA) because they must have 150 credits to hold CPA certification.
From now onwards, CA qualification itself gives 60 to 90 credits to the candidates for CPA.
CAS can get 60–90 credits for Certified Public Accountant.
People who have done the Chartered Accountant (CA) foundation will also be given some additional credits.
No credits will be added to you if you are a CPT.
CPA License Requirements:
Given below are the requirements to become a US CPA and attain a CPA license:
Should have 120 to 150 credentials (with your graduation degree, you have 3*30=90 credits, to attain remaining credits, you have to do Post Graduation or now Chartered Accountant qualification is sufficient).
Relevant work experience of 2 years (need to be under the US CPA holder. Mr.Sripal Jain CA, CPA (Co-founder, Simandhar Education) can verify for the candidate.
Pass Ethics Exam.
Age Limit: 18+ years.
CPA Exam Format:
There are four parts in the CPA exam.
- Auditing and Attestation (AUD)
- Regulation (REG)
- Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR)
- Business Environment and Concepts (BEC)
AUD, FAR and REG sections of the US CPA exam consist of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Task-Based Simulations. Where, CPA BEC exam consists of MCQs, TBS and Written Communication tasks.
